The DARE TO CREATE project promotes a critical reflection on gender equality issues and empowers young people to adopt a more egalitarian attitudes and practices toward another gender. The challenge of the project is to use culture, tradition and various expressive forms of arts as a resource to work with the young participants (such us, handicrafts, dance, music, theater, among others).
SOPRO
SOPRO – Solidariedade e Promoção is a non-profit NGO for Development, recognized by Camões - Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, IP (Foreign Affairs Ministry) and member of Portuguese Platform of NGO. Our mission is the “youth's education on solidarity and promotion of cooperation projects for human development in the world”. As a Lasallist association, SOPRO also supports the Christian Schools Brothers mission of “promotion integral human development and society transformation by education, solidarity and participation”.
SOPRO develops its activities at local and international level,and has made Millennium Development Goals its own purposes, working to “Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger; Achieve Universal Primary Education; Promote Gender Equality and Empower Women”.
In Barcelos area, SOPRO has developed several projects, among them: Voluntary work in close territory; School Supply Bank and SOPRO Feminino and CHEGA, projects dedicated to Gender Equality and Non-Gender Violence.
ABOUT DARE TO CREATE
DARE TO CREATE project promotes a critical reflection on gender equality issues and empowers young people to adopt a more egalitarian attitudes and practices toward another gender. The challenge of the project is to use culture, tradition and various expressive forms of arts as a resource to work with the young participants (such us, handcrafts, dance, music, theater, among others).
The project is aimed for young people with fewer opportunities characterized by being marginalized young people with fewer opportunities and having social, economic, educational difficulties and or social, to be held in Barcelos (Portugal) involving 40 participants (all genders, between 18 and 30 years) and 8 leaders (no age limit). The working language is English.

ADVANCE PLANNING VISIT
Between 13th and 14th October 2019, took place in Portugal (Barcelos) the Advance Planning Visit - APV of Dare To Create project.
This meeting aimed to present Dare To Create before the project activities that will take place during youth exchange week and be able to discuss all important issues concerning youth exchange: discuss and approve the project activity plan; distribute project tasks among participants; analyze partner and SOPRO roles; discuss travel planning and make the budget organization. There was still time for APV participants got acquainted with Barcelos city and local sights.
The main project activity is planned to take place between June 22nd and 29th, 2022, in Barcelos, involving 40 young participants and 8leaders from different countries participants.
The project is implemented with financial support of the ERASMUS + program.
YOUTH EXCHANGE
Dare To Create
Youth Exchange will be between 22nd and 29th of june 2022 (22nd is the arrival date and 29th of June is departure date) in Barcelos. The youth exchange includes 1 leaders (no age limit) and 5 young people (all genders, aged 18-30 years old, the young people must be from a fewer opportunity background).
