ABOUT SOPRO
What we believe
SOPRO - Solidarity and Promotion, was founded in 1996 by a group of young volunteers, students from La Salle College. SOPRO is recognized as a Non-Governmental Organization for Development (NGOD) with the Statute of Public Utility Entity, Non-profit.
The association is headquartered in Barcelos, Portugal.
SOPRO develops its activities and projects at the national and international levels and is guided by the following values: solidarity, cooperation, education as a universal right, justice, respect and volunteering work.At the national level, SOPRO works locally in the area of Barcelos and promotes volunteering, proximity through Bank School Supply and CHEGA that is a defense project of gender equality and fights against domestic violence and human traffick. SOPRO performs its activities with groups of all ages to bring awareness and raise more visibility on volunteering, gender equality and gender violence (such us, violence in dating).
At the international level, SOPRO develops volunteer programs in Mozambique with the support of the Portuguese volunteers that work on projects in the area of education and development. Within the Erasmus+ projects SOPRO receives and sends volunteers through EVS/ESC.
ABOUT VOICES

The VOICES project is a youth exchange that arise from the concern of young people with gender inequalities.
More and more young people feel that violence in relationships is becoming prominent in their lives, not only because of the alarming prevalence and its consequences on physical and mental health, but also because it occurs at a stage in life where romantic relationships are beginning.

The project is aimed for young people with fewer opportunities characterized, between 18 and 30 years, to be held in Barcelos (Portugal),involving 35 participants (all genders, between 18 and 30 years) and 7 leaders (no age limit). The working language is English.

YOUTH EXCHANGE
Youth Exchange will be between 20/07/2022 and 27/07/2022 (20/7 is the arrival date and 27/07 is departure date) in Barcelos. The youth exchange includes 1 leader (no age limit) and 5 young people (all genders, aged 18-30 years old, the young people must be from a fewer opportunity background).
